This aquarium is more a museum showing the history of fishery but it has a great aquarium section with fishes as well as some carnivores, like the mink and seals.

During the day the fish and seals are fet, ask at the entrance for the times. In the periode 1. May - 30. September there is a fisherboat strolling the danish coasts, where you can catch glimps of seals.


The museum was founded in 1962 and was opened for public in april 1968. Then it had an exhibition about the histostry of danish fishery as well as a sea aquarium. In 1976 the museum got the seallariumand in 1989 the first part of the free land area was opened wich since has been developed and extended. Here you can see an bunker from worl war II. In 1999 the museum got extension of  2000 sqm spread over 5 floors with a regular exhibition of the history of danish marine and special exhibition. In 2002 the aquarium was restaurated and extended.

The aquarium has a broad range of fish from the danish seas, the biggest aquarium has 100.000 liter sea water and you find sting rays, sharks, sea eals among others. If you feel like touchng the beests of the oceans there is a touchpool. Outside there is the home for harbour seals, grey seals and 2 other enclosures, home fur the funny minks.  

 

 

Dansk: Dette er det danske museum for komercielt fiskeri i Danmark. Ved siden af at vise fiskeriets historie finder man en bunker fran anden verdenskrig, et stort akvarie med fisk fra nordsøen og et udendørsanlæg for sæler.  

  

 

Deutsch: Dies ist das museum für gewerbliche Fischerei in Dänemark. Natürlich kann man hier alles lehrnen darüber wie es anfing vor über 1000 Jahren bis zur heutigen Zeit. Das museum verfügt aber auch über ein Bunker vom 2. Weltkrieg, eine grosse anlage für Fische die in der Nordsee leben, sowie eine anlage mit Seehunden und Kegelrobben
